Troubleshooting: What to Do If You Experience No Results
Understanding Your Skin’s Reaction
High-Grade Glycolic Acid Peels, like the XanthRemover, are powerful cosmetic tools. However, results vary depending on skin type, application method, and skin preparation.
Most of our customers are very satisfied with the product. However, a fringe of customers says the product is too strong and some other fringe say it did nothing at all. and mind you we are talking about the same batch number and the same production.
We can only conclude that for those who say they did not experience any peeling effects at all there may two factors at play:
1 skin type prone to have a high sebum barrier that protects the skin from the high grade glycolic acid. This can be resolved by degreasing the skin. Meaning removing the protective oily barrier from the skin prior to application.
2 modality of application.
If you experience no visible effects, follow these troubleshooting steps:
1. If You Experience No Results (No Peeling or Exfoliation):
If the product seems ineffective, it may be due to your skin’s natural oil barrier or insufficient application time. Try the following:
- Increase application time gradually. If you only left the XanthRemover on your skin for 10 minutes, try 20-30 minutes in your next session. If this does not help increase the application time further until you start noticing the peeling effects after the full application.
- Degrease your skin properly prior to applying the XanthRemover on your skin. Oily skin barrier (sebum) can prevent the glycolic acid from penetrating effectively.
Try these steps:
- Wash you skin with soap and water.
- Apply vinegar with a cotton pad. The Vinegar is applied on a cotton pad and the wet cotton pad impregnated with vinegar is rubbed against your skin gently to remove the oily protective barrier. This mechanical motion using the cotton pad with vinegar will degrease your skin to a certain extent.
- For extremely oily skin, use acetone instead of vinegar (only if necessary). Acetone is applied on a cotton pad. The cotton pad wet with acetone is rubbed against the skin gently. This mechanical motion will degrease the skin even more aggressively than using vinegar does.
- After that repeat the application process using the XanthRemover increasing the application time as you see fit. It is assumed that you have already performed the patch tests, and you are accustomed to the effects of the XanthRemover.
- Avoid applying excessive moisturizer before the application of the XanthRemover. Heavy creams or oils can create a barrier that prevents the peel from working effectively.
3. If You Experience Uneven Results (Some Areas Peel While Others Don’t):
This usually happens due to uneven oil distribution on the skin. Try these steps:
- Ensure even skin degreasing before application. Some areas may have more natural sebum than others.
- Apply a uniform layer of the product. Make sure the gel is evenly distributed on all target areas.
- Allow for multiple treatments. Skin responds differently in different areas—some may need more applications than others.
Final Tips for Safe and Effective Use
- Always perform a patch test before your first full application.
- Gradually increase application time rather than applying for long durations immediately.
