Pigmentation from Shaving or Razor Bumps – How to Remove these skin imperfections using the XanthRemover
The XanthRemover is an effective exfoliating gel that helps lighten pigmentation caused by shaving irritation, razor bumps, or ingrown hairs. By the process of exfoliation hence promoting new skin growth, it restores a more even skin tone.
Mandatory Patch Test
Since areas affected by shaving and razor bumps may be sensitive, perform a patch test to ensure skin compatibility and get used on how the XanthRemover works on your skin in general before full use.
Day One
Apply a small amount of gel (0.5 cm²) of gel on your inner forearm or under the chin.
Leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
Day Two
Apply a small amount to a different area (e.g., side of the neck).
Leave on for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
➡️ Wait 2 days and monitor the skin for any irritation, redness, or prolonged itching. Discontinue use if any adverse reaction occurs.
Day Five
Apply a tiny amount of gel directly to a small pigmented patch caused by shaving.
Leave for 10 minutes, then wipe off and rinse.
Day Six
Repeat on a different pigmented spot (e.g., another razor bump mark).
Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse.
Day Seven
Treat another dark spot or pigmented area.
Leave on for 40 minutes, then rinse.
➡️ Day Eleven
If no adverse effects occurred, you may now apply to a larger pigmented area.
Leave on for up to 1 hour max if you deem it appropriate, then rinse thoroughly.
Application Instructions for Pigmentation from Shaving
Once patch testing confirms tolerance:
Wash your hands thoroughly.
Clean and dry the pigmented area (you may use a gentle, alcohol-free toner).
Apply a thin, even layer of XanthRemover to the affected area.
Leave on for 20–60 minutes, depending on your patch test tolerance.
Wipe off gently with a cotton pad, then rinse with cool to lukewarm water.
➡️ Peeling will begin within 1–3 days. Let it occur naturally—avoid picking or scrubbing.
Frequency of Use
Wait at least 2 weeks between each treatment.
Reapply only once peeling is complete and the skin is fully healed.
Post-Treatment Care
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen after the area has healed.
Avoid tight clothing or friction on the treated skin.
Do not shave or use hair removal products until the area is fully healed.
Refrain from using aftershaves or alcohol-based products on treated areas.
Important Warnings
Avoid using on open wounds, active razor bumps, or infected areas.
Not suitable for very sensitive skin without professional advice.
Discontinue use if you notice burning, blistering, or persistent redness.
