Keratosis Pilaris (Chicken Skin) Smoothing with the XanthRemover

Keratosis Pilaris (commonly known as “Chicken Skin”) appears as rough, bumpy patches on the skin, often on the upper arms, thighs, or buttocks. These small, hard bumps are caused by the buildup of keratin, blocking hair follicles and leading to a rough texture.

XanthRemover is formulated to break down this buildup, helping to smooth the skin’s texture and reduce the appearance of these rough patches.

How XanthRemover Helps:

  • Exfoliates dead skin cells, reducing rough, bumpy texture

  • Helps break down keratin plugs that cause Chicken Skin

  • Promotes skin renewal, resulting in smoother, softer skin

  • Improves overall skin appearance with consistent use

Mandatory Patch Test

Since Keratosis Pilaris can be associated with sensitive or dry skin, perform a patch test before full application.

Day One

  • Apply a small amount of gel (max 0.5 cm²) to the inner forearm or upper arm.

  • Leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

Day Two

  • Apply a small amount to a different spot (e.g., back of the upper arm).

  • Leave on for 30 minutes, then rinse.

Wait 2 days to monitor the skin for irritation, redness, or itching. Discontinue use if any adverse reaction occurs.

Day Five

  • Apply a small amount directly to a Keratosis Pilaris patch (e.g., on the upper arm).

  • Leave on for 30 minutes, then rinse off completely.

Day Six

  • Repeat on another rough patch (e.g., thigh area).

  • Leave on for 40 minutes, then rinse.

Day Seven

  • Apply to a third affected area.

  • Leave on for 50 minutes, then rinse.

Day Eleven

  • If no adverse effects occurred, you may now apply to a larger affected area.

  • Leave on for up to 1 hour max, then rinse thoroughly.

Application Instructions

  1. Clean and dry the affected area before application.

  2. Apply a thin, even layer of XanthRemover to the bumpy skin.

  3. Leave on for 20–60 minutes, depending on tolerance.

  4. Wipe off gently with a cotton pad, then rinse with cool to lukewarm water.

  5. Peeling will begin within 1–3 days. Do not scrub or pick at peeling skin.

Frequency of Use

  • Wait at least 2 weeks between applications.

  • Reapply only once peeling is complete and the skin is fully healed.

Post-Treatment Care

  • Use a fragrance-free moisturizer daily to maintain smoothness.

  • Avoid tight or abrasive clothing that can rub against treated areas.

  • Protect treated skin with sunscreen if exposed to sunlight.

  • Avoid using harsh soaps or exfoliants on the treated areas.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use on open wounds, severely irritated skin, or areas with active inflammation.

  • Discontinue use if you experience burning, severe redness, or persistent discomfort.

  • Avoid using on extremely dry or cracked skin without professional advice.

Expected Results

  • Noticeable improvement after 2–4 applications.

  • Smoother, less bumpy skin texture.
